Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:45 Years to 75 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:No
Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Time post injury \> 12 months
  2. * Moderate-to-severe TBI
  3. * One upper limb (UL) is more affected than the other, and the participant reports impaired UL function because of the more affected limb.
  4. * The more affected limb is at the Brunnstrom Stage 3, 4, or 5 of Arm Recovery .
  5. * Meeting the following technology requirements: possessing and using a smartphone, Internet connection at home, and having a TV at home
  1. * \< 18 years old at the time of injury
  2. * A history of previous neurological disorder
  3. * A history of substance abuse requiring inpatient treatment
  4. * The more affected limb is at the Brunnstrom Stage 1, 2, 6, or 7 of Arm Recovery.
  5. * Experiencing severe pain during the Brunnstrom Stage evaluation
  6. * Active subluxation of the shoulders
  7. * Living outside of the 50-mile radius of Kessler Foundation (West Orange, NJ)
