This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

The purpose of this study is to test a culturally tailored, smartphone-delivered intervention designed to increase physical activity and reduce risk for heart disease and type 2 diabetes among African American women.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:24 Years to 65 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:FEMALE
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:Yes
Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Self-reported African American/Black female
  2. * Aged of 24-65 years
  3. * Insufficiently Active (\< 60 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity per week as measured by Exercise Vital Sign Questionnaire)
  4. * BMI \> 30 kg/m2
  5. * English speaking and reading
  6. * Ownership of a smartphone with the ability to download applications (i.e., apps)
  7. * Ownership of a smartphone with the ability to receive text messages
  8. * Willingness to receive a physical activity intervention delivered through their smartphone
  9. * Willingness to include their first name or create an alias to be used on their profile page on the Smart Walk app
  1. * Plans to relocate out of Phoenix area in next 12 months
  2. * Endorsing an item on the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q), unless a doctor's note for study participation in provided
  3. * Resting systolic blood pressure greater than 180 mmHG and/or a diastolic blood pressure greater than 120 mmHG , as assessed at baseline or at any other study assessment
  4. * Self-reported participation in another diet or weight loss study at screening
  5. * Pregnant or planning to become pregnant in the next 12 months
