Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

The overall objective of this mixed methods study is to: 1) Refine the Emergency Department Lung Cancer Screening (ED-LCS) intervention using qualitative interviews among key stakeholders; 2) pilot test the ED-LCS intervention evaluating the intervention efficacy, acceptability, and feasibility; and 3) provide an in-depth description of stakeholders' experiences with the ED-LCS intervention for future refinement.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:50 Years to 80 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:Yes
Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * • Eligible for LCS (50-80 years old, smoked in past 15 years, and smoked at least 20 pack years)
  1. * • Non-English/Spanish speaking
  2. * Decompensated psychiatric illness (suicidal, homicidal, psychosis). Will confirm with attending physicians at time of enrollment
  3. * Intoxicated with alcohol or drugs
  4. * Cannot provide reliable follow up contact information (cell phone)
  5. * Presenting to the ED with a life-threatening condition
  6. * Have received chest CT scan in past 12 months
  7. * Already enrolled in LCS
  8. * Hospice enrolled
