Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

The goal of this study is to analyze the use of the Addinex system for opioid dispensing after ambulatory care to determine whether it will reduce opioid consumption, increase pill disposal, show variables that may predict opioid consumption, and determine whether this intervention is acceptable to patients.

Participation Criteria

Standard Ages:CHILD, ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Ages six years and older
  2. * Ability to swallow pills
  3. * Isolated bone fracture
  4. * Planned to receive opioids in the post-treatment period
  5. * Not taking opioids daily prior to the procedure
  6. * English or Spanish-speaking
  7. * Able to give informed consent or a parent that can give informed consent
  8. * Ownership of and comfort using apps on a smartphone with compatible operating system
  9. * WIFI or cellular access
  10. * Patient not admitted to hospital
  1. * Recent opioid use (last 30 days or 2 or more prescriptions in the past 3 months
  2. * Impaired decisional capacity
  3. * In police custody
  4. * Ward of the state
