Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

The overall objective of this 13-month randomized crossover study is to seek evidence demonstrating that daily consumption of peanuts and peanut products improve cardiometabolic, cognitive, and intestinal health in a racially diverse prediabetes population.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:20 Years to 59 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:No
Standard Ages:ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * men and women
  2. * 20-59 years of age
  3. * Prediabetes (fasting blood glucose levels 100-125 mg/dL and/or HbA1c between 5.7-6.4%)
  1. * Allergies to peanuts and peanut products
  2. * Use of insulin, antidiabetic, antibiotics, and anti-inflammatory drugs
  3. * Active cancer, gastrointestinal, renal, cardiovascular, thyroid, and neurological diseases or severe head injury
  4. * Smoking
  5. * Consumes greater than 2 alcoholic beverages per day
  6. * Consumes antioxidant, probiotic, and prebiotic supplements
  7. * Pregnant or Lactating
  8. * Actively participating in a weight loss program
