Study Overview

This clinical trial focuses on testing the efficacy of different digital interventions to promote re-engagement in cancer-related long-term follow-up care for adolescent and young adult (AYA) survivors of childhood cancer.

Description

This study will test the acceptability and benefits of a home-based high-intensity virtual reality exercise program for young people with physical disabilities. The program will last 6 weeks. There will be a total of two visits to the laboratory for exercise-related health assessments. The program includes head-mounted displays (Meta Quest) and off-the-shelf games.

Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:13 Years to 25 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:ALL
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:No
Standard Ages:CHILD, ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * overweight or obese (based on CDC body mass index normative ranges for age and sex)
  2. * physically inactive (\<150 min/week of moderate exercise)
  3. * Gross Motor Function Classification System level (GMFCS) levels I-IV
  4. * Physician clearance to participate
  5. * Wifi internet access at home
  1. * Complete blindness or deafness
  2. * GMFCS level V
  3. * Unable to communicate in English
  4. * Prone to photosensitive seizures
  5. * Pregnant (due to radiation from a Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry \[DXA\] scan
