The goal of this study is to measure the effects of using Tradipitant after GLP-1R agonist use on nausea and vomiting in healthy overweight, class I, or class II obese volunteers. The study is placebo-controlled with two treatment arms.

The purpose of this research study is to determine if the Enterra® Therapy System can decrease nausea and vomiting symptoms and improve the quality of life for patients with chronic nausea, with or without vomiting, that have normal gastric emptying.

The study team proposes a randomized, double-blind, RCT to address the following goal: to determine the relative efficacy and adverse event profile of fosaprepitant compared to the standard of care antiemetic ondansetron. Fosaprepitant and its active metabolite aprepitant are a relatively new class of antiemetic that exclusively acts in the central nervous system by blocking neurokinin (NK-1) which is a key signaling molecule in the centrally mediated aspects of the vomiting reflex. Currently, fosaprepitant and aprepitant both have only two United Stated Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) approved indications for nausea and vomiting: chemotherapy-induced and postoperative. Neurokinin inhibitors are highly effective and generally well-tolerated. Therefore, this class of medication may be a more appropriate medication for the millions of patients with nausea and vomiting that seek care in EDs. Intravenous fosaprepitant is converted to the active metabolite aprepitant on the order of minutes and is significantly cheaper to procure at this time. The outcome for the efficacy analysis will be no need for additional medication to treat nausea and vomiting within 2 hours of investigational medication administration. The primary outcome for the tolerability analysis will be the development of any new symptom within 2 hours of medication administration.

The primary objective of this proposal is to conduct an early Phase 2 clinical trial to determine the acceptability, dosing, tolerability and safety of mirtazapine for severe nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (sNVP) that is not adequately responsive to current standard treatments. This plan mirrors clinical practice since commonly prescribed antiemetic/ antinauseant drugs will be tested for efficacy before treating with mirtazapine.

The primary objective of this study is to compare the efficacy of Bonjesta for the treatment of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (NVP) in pregnant adolescents aged 12 to 17 years with placebo. The secondary objective of this study is to compare the safety of Bonjesta in pregnant adolescents aged 12 to 17 years with placebo.
Morning Sickness
Between fifty and eighty percent of pregnant women experience nausea and vomiting in pregnancy making it one of the most common medical complications of pregnancy. Hyperemesis gravidarum is an extreme form of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy and results in evidence of acute starvation (i.e. large ketonuria), and weight loss (\>5% of a woman's pre-pregnancy weight). Hyperemesis gravidarum is also surprisingly common. In fact, it is the second leading cause of preterm hospitalization during pregnancy, second only preterm labor. Hospitalization is often required because hyperemesis is frequently refractory to common anti-nausea medications. However, capsaicin cream, a potent TRPV1 agonist, commonly used to relieve muscular and neuropathic pain, may be able to reduce the symptoms of nausea and emesis in patients with nausea and vomiting of pregnancy. Smaller studies have demonstrated capsaicin to be both safe and effective when used to treat intraoperative nausea during cesarean delivery. To begin to address whether capsaicin cream could be used to reduce preterm admissions and shorten emergency room visits for hyperemesis, this study will randomize women presenting to the emergency room for nausea and vomiting to treatment with capsaicin cream as an adjunctive medication or routine care. The project will investigate the impact of capsaicin cream on hospital length of stay as well as representation for additional treatment. If effective, capsaicin cream has the potential not only to reduce emergency room visits, hospital admissions and overall health care costs, but also to drastically improve patient quality of life.
Hyperemesis Gravidarum, Nausea Gravidarum, Vomiting of Pregnancy
Single center, double-blind, randomized, controlled trial in patients who present to the emergency department (ED) with a chief complaint of nausea or vomiting. A total of 300 patients age 18-55 presenting to the emergency department with chief complaint of nausea or vomiting will be enrolled from February 2021 - February 2022. Patients will be randomized and symptom levels will be recorded at 30, 60, 90, minutes. Follow-up will be performed by telephone at 24 hours.

This is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, parallel group, placebo-controlled, efficacy and safety study of adult outpatients diagnosed with CVS and experiencing recurring episodes of stereotypical vomiting.
Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome
This study is a three group, randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled trial with two repeated measurements. The same measurements will be collected for each participant during two consecutive chemotherapy treatment cycles.Subjects will be provided with written instructions as an educational handout as well as essential oil safety information. Subjects will be able to demonstrate an ability and accurate understanding of the proper use of the diffusers, using a demonstration diffuser, at the time of consent. At the time the subject will provide written informed consent, they will be randomly assigned to one of the three groups with a pocket diffuser containing either ginger essential oil, peppermint essential oil, or vanilla extract )placebo- control). This is based on a pre-determined list of random assignments. Each subject will be instructed to inhale from the pocket diffuser beginning on the day of their chemotherapy (Day 1) and continue using the inhaler for the next three consecutive days (Day 1-Day 4). The subjects will remove the cover of the pocket diffuser, place the pocket diffuser approximately an inch away from their nose and inhale three times with deep breathing (i.e., three sniffs). Subjects will take 3 sniffs of the aromatherapy inhaler three times daily (morning, afternoon, and evening). In addition to the Pre-treatment Assessment, occurring before each of the 2 cycles of chemotherapy, the subjects will be contacted to complete assessments at approximately 24 and 72 hours post-chemotherapy. A member of the study team will call the participant again at their preferred time of day to ask the survey questions. The same procedures will be repeated during the participant's second cycle of chemotherapy, which is likely two or three weeks after the first one.

The overall goal of this study is to explore the effectiveness of using acupuncture versus aromatherapy, in conjunction with standard of care anti-emetics, to decrease chemotherapy induced nausea, vomiting, and anxiety in breast cancer patients undergoing Adriamycin and Cytoxan. This study also aims to determine if aromatherapy and anti-emetics is more effective than acupuncture and anti-emetics in treating nausea, vomiting, and anxiety in patients receiving Adriamycin and Cytoxan and if acupuncture and anti-emetics is more effective than aromatherapy and anti-emetics in treating nausea, vomiting, and anxiety in patients receiving Adriamycin and Cytoxan.

Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) remains a major obstacle to patient care and continues to decrease quality of life. Despite the addition of medications and antiemetic regimens, doctors' ability to control CINV is still inadequate: even moderately-emetogenic chemotherapy regimens cause roughly 20% of patients to have vomiting and over 40% to experience significant nausea. In this study, the investigators test a transcranial vibrating system that has shown great promise at reducing nausea and vomiting. .

This is a pilot clinical trial of dronabinol to treat disabling attacks of nausea and vomiting in patients with familial dysautonomia (FD, also known as Riley Day syndrome or hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy type III). FD is a rare autosomal recessive disease in which the growth and development of selective nerves is impaired. Patients with FD suffer recurrent uncontrollable nausea and vomiting crises accompanied by skin flushing, tachycardia and arterial hypertension. Current treatments of nausea are ineffective or have intolerable side sides. Our long-term goal is to treat nausea effectively and without side effects, a therapeutic intervention that would markedly improve the quality of life of patients with FD.

The primary objective of this study is to compare the efficacy of Diclegis for the treatment of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy (NVP) in pregnant adolescents aged 12 to 17 years with placebo. The secondary objective of this study is to compare the safety of Diclegis in pregnant adolescents aged 12 to 17 years with placebo by assessing differences in the severity and occurrence of maternal adverse events (AEs).

Patients who present for scheduled (non-emergent) cesarean section will be given either intravenous dexamethasone or placebo prior to receiving a duramorph containing spinal anesthetic. The investigators will then compare the incidence of nausea and vomiting and the use of rescue anti-nausea medications in both groups. Our hypothesis is that patients receiving dexamethasone prior to duramorph containing spinal anesthesia for cesarean section will have a significantly lower incidence and severity of PONV at 0, 1, 3, 6, and 24 hours following surgery.

To provide oral domperidone to patients between the ages of 18 and 60 years of age, according to the investigator's judgment, a prokinetic effect is needed for the relief of severe gastroparesis. We have defined severe gastroparesis as 1) positive gastric emptying scintigraphy (more than 10% residue at 4 hours), 2) nausea, 3) early satiety, 4) abdominal pain. We will recruit patients for two years and the patients will be given domperidone for up to two years.

In fact, nearly 90% of cancer patients develop chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) following treatment with carboplatin and paclitaxel. The successful control of chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) is thus, of paramount importance in ensuring optimal treatment and sustaining a cancer patient's quality of life.
