The purpose of this study was to determine the safety and tolerability of CLR325 intravenous (i.v.) infusion in patients with stable heart failure to determine if further clinical development of the drug in this indication was warranted.
CNDP-578-02 is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, dose-escalation, crossover design trial. Eight evaluable subjects (n=8) with chronic stable heart failure and moderate renal impairment will be randomized (1:1) to receive cenderitide or placebo. Enrolled subjects will begin with Infusion Period A where they will receive up to 7 days of continuous, subcutaneous, dose-escalating infusions of cenderitide or placebo via the Insulet Drug Delivery System. Enrolled subjects will then cross over into Infusion Period B where they will receive up to 7 days of continuous, subcutaneous, dose-escalating infusions of cenderitide or placebo.
Adherence to cardiac rehabilitation is poor, and worse for minorities, women, and those with lower levels of education. Patients less likely to be referred to and complete cardiac rehab are at highest risk of adverse outcomes and thus have the most to gain from participation in cardiac rehab. To improve participation, healthcare systems need to limit barriers to enrollment and promote adherence to rehabilitation.
Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is strongly recommended for patients with coronary heart disease. However, patient enrollment and completion of cardiac rehabilitation is low. This study will examine if a mobile phone intervention that uses a text messaging program can successfully promote participation in cardiac rehabilitation.
Planned enrollment is approximately twelve subjects with stable chronic heart failure. Enrolled subjects will receive up to eight sequential days of continuous, stepwise, dose increasing, subcutaneous (SQ) infusions of open-label cenderitide via the Insulet Drug Delivery System. Planned infusion rates of cenderitide will be administered to subjects continuously during four, 48-hour infusion periods.
The mortality of chronic heart failure patients remains high. Recombinant human Neuregulin-1 (rhNRG-1, also called Neucardin) is a 61 amino acid peptide that acts directly on damaged heart muscle cells to restore their structure and function. This study will investigate the safety and efficacy of rhNRG-1 to treat stable chronic heart failure.
This human physiologic study will evaluate the effects of a new drug called CD-NP in individuals with stable chronic heart failure, with a focus on evaluating responses of the kidneys and the hormonal system.
The purpose of this study is to determine if Coreg CR is as effective as Coreg IR in improving heart function in subjects with stable chronic heart failure.
This study will evaluate the tolerability and safety of valsartan in patients with stable, chronic heart failure (NYHA Class ll-lll). The 12-week double blind study has a 2-week (maximum) screening, and a 10-week active treatment phase. In each of the treatment arms (QD and BID), patients are up-titrated to a maximum valsartan total daily dose of 320 mg. Patients remain on their prior CHF standard care therapy throughout the study period, and the up-titration of valsartan is based on patient tolerability.
The guideline-recommended standard of care for patients who have experienced a heart attack, heart failure, or other coronary event or procedure is exercise-based cardiac rehabilitation (CR). Despite proven benefits, traditional CR is severely underutilized. Moreover, what is typically lacking from traditional CR programs is effective psychosocial risk management. This represents a critical gap in care given the well-documented psychosocial needs of this patient population.The objective of this feasibility study is to conduct a pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT) of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) versus usual care in CR-eligible cardiac patients. Randomization will be stratified within two strata based on participation in CR (yes/no) among CR-eligible patients. The primary goals of this pilot study are to: 1) obtain estimates of treatment effects and variability; 2) evaluate recruitment and retention strategies; and 3) examine the safety of the MBSR protocol in CR-eligible patients.
This feasibility trial will focus on older adults 60+ who are candidates for cardiac or pulmonary rehabilitation and who are vulnerable, mildly or moderately frail. We will randomize older frail adults living in rural regions of the county to Treatment as usual (TAU) or Stepped care (SC). TAU refers to center-based rehabilitation (CBR). Patients randomized to SC will be enrolled in traditional CBR and based on prespecified non-response criteria, will step up to three services: 1) Transportation-subsidized CBR, 2) Home-based telerehabilitation (TR), and 3) Community health worker-(CHW) supported home-based TR.
