The purpose of this study is to determine whether providing small amounts of digital support impacts students in the Art and Science of Human Flourishing (ASHF) course. Approximately 300 participants will be enrolled and can expect to be on study for up to 4 months.
This project investigates the impact of Daoist Zhanzhuang (sometimes spelled as Chan Chuang) on human flourishing, and explores the physiological, psychological, and spiritual mechanisms. This study will be a two-arm randomized controlled trial, with mixed-methods and repeated-measures assessment of outcome variables. The two arms will include an active control condition (i.e., sham wall squat) and the Daoist Zhanzhuang condition. Outcome variables will include physiological measures of heart rate variability and inflammatory biomarkers, psychological scales of human flourishing variables, phenomenological interviews of mystical experiences, and daily ecological momentary assessment of human flourishing and mysticism. Randomly assigned into two conditions, 120 participants will complete a three-week intensive practice phase with 9 in-person sessions, followed by a nine-week self-guided practice phase with 4 in-person check-in sessions, and 3 follow-up practice and assessment sessions. Complete assessment (physiological measures, psychological scales, and phenomenological interviews) will be administered at five time points: T1 at about two weeks before the intervention, T2 at the end of the three-week intensive practice, T3 at the end of the 3-month intervention, T4 at the 6-month follow-up, and T5 at the 12-month follow-up. In addition, daily ecological momentary assessment of flourishing variables and practice-induced experiences will be administered daily after the practice for the entire 3-month intervention period.
Despite the known association between the quality of participant relational engagement with service providers and clinical outcomes, limited studies have examined caregiver Relational Responsiveness (RR) as a mechanism to achieve maltreatment prevention program outcomes. Using a realist-informed mixed method approach, this study will examine RR's role in mediating the effects of a community-based maltreatment prevention program, the Family Success Network (FSN) on protective factors against maltreatment and the contexts within which RR's mediation effects are activated or inhibited.
This two phase study is testing an online version of a transdiagnostic, cognitive behavioral therapy, against a modified version of that therapy emphasizing positive affect. The first phase of the trial will focus on content development for the modified therapy and the second phase will be a randomized control trial comparing the two.
Better Together Physician Coaching ("Better Together", or "BT"), a 4-month, web-based positive psychology multimodal coaching program was built to decrease burnout in medical trainees. Here, the investigators seek to understand it's efficacy in University of Colorado School of Medicine (CU SOM) clinicians Aim 1: Implement Better Together in University of Colorado School of Medicine clinicians Aim 2: Assess outcomes: primary: reduce burnout as measured by the Maslach Burnout Index (goal: 10% relative improvement), and secondary: self-compassion, imposter syndrome, flourishing, loneliness, and moral injury. Aim 3: Advance the field of coaching for clinicians through innovation and dissemination of evidence-based approaches to clinician wellbeing.

Studies estimate that 30% of people worldwide experience chronic pain. The mechanisms causing this pain can vary: a neuropathic offender, such as nerve compression; a structural offender, such as long-term effects of soft tissue damage and repair; or nociplastic, dysfunctional offenders, such as fibromyalgia. The type of pain experienced influences diagnostic and treatment choice. In theory, there's a significant blending of these pain types within individuals and across patients, leading many specialists to view pain classification as a spectrum. Multidisciplinary pain management (MPM) is a standard model for addressing and treating different mechanisms of chronic pain using multiple interventions from different disciplines. Although many clinics employing these strategies have resulted in positive and clinically effective outcomes, the creation and implementation of such facilities have not been widespread. With increasing focus on psychosocial factors that impact pain in conjunction with structural and biomechanical offenders, a need for a whole-person, integrated approach to chronic pain management is needed. We propose an observational study to gather data that will inform the design, implementation, and operation of such a chronic pain research clinic.
This randomized waitlist-controlled trial tests the efficacy of the Stress Management and Resiliency Training Relaxation Response Resiliency Program (SMART-3RP), a mind-body intervention, to enhance resilience and flourishing among residents in continuing care retirement communities. The investigators hypothesize that participants in the SMART-3RP group will report greater increases in resilience and flourishing relative to participants in the control group.
This single-arm pilot study tests the feasibility of integrating the Stress Management and Resiliency Training Relaxation Response Resiliency Program (SMART-3RP), a mind-body intervention, into senior living residential communities. The investigators hypothesize that the SMART-3RP intervention will be feasible for senior living community residents to attend.
The purpose of this study is to test the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of an online expressive storytelling intervention for adolescents and young adults (AYA) with cancer. * Specific Aim 1. To evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of a 5-week online expressive storytelling intervention. We will (a) conduct a 1-group pre- and post-test study with 20 AYA with cancer and (b) examine feasibility and acceptability through study enrollment rates, retention rates, usability score, adherence and data collection rates, satisfaction score, perceived benefits score, and intervention fidelity. \*Hypothesis 1: We will reach following feasibility and acceptability benchmarks: (a) \>70% enrollment of eligible participants, (b) \>70% retention, (c) \>75% adherence and data collection, (d) \>70 out of 100 usability score, (e) \>5 out of 7 satisfaction score, (f) \>average 5 on the perceived benefits score, and (g) \>3 out of 4 fidelity score. * Specific Aim 2. To assess preliminary efficacy of a 5-week online expressive storytelling intervention. * Hypothesis 2: AYA participants will report lower psychosocial distress, higher health-related quality of life, and higher well-being scores postintervention.
Over the past several decades, a new science of subjective well-being has produced insights into the factors that make people happy-from cultivating strong relationships to pursuing the right goals. Drawing on these empirical findings, the investigators created a comprehensive 12-week intervention program, ENHANCE: Enduring Happiness and Continued Self-Enhancement. The investigators multimodal program is designed to teach people essential skills in order to produce sustainable changes in behavior and, as a result, long-lasting increases in happiness. To test the effectiveness of ENHANCE, the investigators designed a six-month randomized clinical trial. Participants will be assigned to an active treatment group or a waiting group control. They will complete baseline assessments, and follow-up assessment at three and six months after the start of the intervention. These assessments will contain measures of subjective well-being and objective measures of health, as well as a variety of psychological mediators (e.g., psychological needs) and moderators (e.g. personality). The investigators will thus be able to explore not only whether ENHANCE works to improve well-being, but also why and how ENHANCE works.
