The purpose of this study is to determine patient satisfaction with orthopedic preoperative encounter based on offer to record the encounter on patient personal smartphone.
The main goal of this study is to see if there is a connection between the social and economic resources available in a patient's neighborhood (measured by the Area Deprivation Index, ADI) and their recovery after knee replacement surgery, as tracked through remote monitoring. A secondary goal is to find out if patients' self-reported pain and function score are linked to their actual physical improvement after surgery as measured by a remote therapeutic monitoring (RTM) device. Additionally, this study examines whether RTM can reduce the number of postoperative clinic visits within the first 90 days after surgery while maintaining patient satisfaction and patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs).
This study looks at how a short educational video can help people better understand thyroid surgery. Patients who have thyroid nodules and need surgery will be part of the study. Some patients will get the usual information from their doctor, while others will also watch a video that explains the surgery in a simple and clear way. The study will check if the video helps patients feel more confident about their decision, lowers anxiety, and helps them remember important information about their surgery. Patients will answer surveys before surgery, after surgery, and 3 months later.
A study to evaluate overall participant satisfaction of face and neck appearance after treatment with onabotulinumtoxinA, JUVÉDERM® products, KYBELLA, CoolSculpting Elite, and select SkinMedica products in a diverse population.
This study evaluates the postoperative outcomes of patients who are admitted to the Mayo Clinic Florida Care Hotel after mastectomy and tissue expander placement. At Mayo Clinic Florida, patients receiving low risk surgeries are often admitted to the hospital overnight for observation. A new model of delivering patient care was created at the Mayo Clinic Florida coined the "Care Hotel." This is a temporal, voluntary accommodation that offers patients a comfortable environment to receive nursing care before or after hospital treatment with in-person daytime monitoring and 24-hour virtual tele-monitoring in a hotel setting. This study evaluates post operative complications in patients who underwent mastectomy followed by tissue expander reconstruction and were admitted to the Care Hotel for overnight observation compared to the standard hospital admission and those who are discharged home.
Patients undergoing surgery with the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Urogynecology Clinic will be randomized to either standard opioid prescribing or restricted opioid prescribing. They will be surveyed on their satisfaction with their postoperative pain control and their pain levels and opioid use will be tracked postoperatively.
There are a variety of techniques utilized to close lacerations, including but not limited to, traditional sutures, staples, adhesive strips, and skin glue. While closing open wounds and preventing infection are the primary goals of laceration repair, physicians are also concerned with minimizing scar formation and providing the best cosmetic outcomes for the patient. Specifically, the skin on the face is a sensitive area where cosmetic outcome is of high importance, and several laceration repair techniques have been devised for closing facial wounds. Sutures have traditionally been used to close wounds in various types of tissue, and it is still very commonly used in the clinical setting. Adhesive strips (also known under the brand names of Steri-Strips, Curi-strips, Nichi-Strips, and Suture Strips) are another method to repair lacerations superficially. Due to their superficial application and ease of use, adhesive strips may help minimize scar formation and may result in less pain and complications for the patient when compared to conventional sutures. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine whether repair of small, simple facial lacerations with adhesive strips results in better patient experiences and better cosmetic outcomes than sutures. The investigators hypothesize that wounds repaired with adhesive strip will have higher patient satisfaction scores and better cosmetic outcomes.
The goal of this interventional study is to determine whether listening to music during cesarean delivery increases the participants satisfaction. Participants and their support person will be asked to fill out a short survey and mark their satisfaction on a visual analog scale. Vital signs will be recorded during their procedure.
This is a multi-center, consecutive enrollment registry study to evaluate patient satisfaction post SI Fusion with the TransLoc 3D SI Fusion System.
Create a custom urethroplasty mobile application that will guide patients through through the surgical process.
The goal of this prospective, international multi-centre pilot study is to assess the functionality and user experience of a new vital sign monitoring system in 20 patients and 20 nurses in the general ward at each centre. The patients will be monitored with a wireless, continuous vital sign monitoring systems and answer a questionnaire afterwards. They will in addition have vital signs monitored as per standard practice. The nurses will answer a questionnaire after having had the responsibility for a monitored patient for a full shift. The main aims are: To determine the frequency of alerts activated in the app in relation to the alerts that should be activated based on measured data, to explore current practices of in-hospital monitoring by semi-structured interviews to map differences across systems and to test nurse and patient satisfaction.
The investigators are interested in studying the effect of an animated video depicting a nail biopsy procedure on the anxiety, health literacy, and satisfaction of participants recommended to undergo a nail biopsy procedure. The investigators hypothesize that the animated video will reduce preoperative anxiety, increase health literacy, and increase patient satisfaction in relation to nail biopsy procedures.
This is a non-interventional, prospective, observational study of the outcomes for post myopic refractive surgery patients following successful, uncomplicated cataract surgery with bilateral implantation of the Vivity IOL (DAT\*\*\*/CCWET\*). Patients will be assessed for monocular and binocular distance, intermediate, and near vision.
The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the ideal drain placement in patients undergoing abdominoplasty or panniculectomy. There are currently no patient reported outcome measurements on ideal drain placement and this study aims to collect objective and patient reported measures to standardize ideal drain placement. In this study a medially and laterally placed drain will be compared to each other in each study participant. In this study subject will have two drains. One will be lateral and one medial. The drains will be secured and dressed in the same manner. At subjects planned post-operative visits, subjects will be asked to complete surveys to evaluate their experience with the drains. This study will not require additional clinic visits for study purposes.
Background: * The Tecnis Synergy intraocular lens (IOL) has a claim to allow patients to experience continuous high-contrast vision from far through near even in low-light conditions. * A J\&J-sponsored post marketing study done outside of the US claim superiority of range of vision for the Tecnis Synergy IOL over the PanOptix IOL. Hypothesis: * Patients with bilateral Panoptix IOLs have non-inferior distance, intermediate, and near visual acuity compared to patients with bilateral Synergy IOLs in both photopic and mesopic conditions with less glare, haloes, and/or starbursts. Unmet Medical Need: * There is a need to look at patient visual outcomes and the visual disturbance profile comparing trifocal technology with combined EDOF/Bifocal technology in the United States.
To evaluate visual outcomes, in-the-bag placement and patient satisfaction in patients implanted with either Clareon monofocal or Clareon monofocal toric IOLs with the Monarch IV inserter and targeted for emmetropia.
The primary goal is to conduct a pilot evaluation of the Amma device, to determine whether it is feasible to offer as an option for patients within oncology suites within the PH\&S system.
This study is being done to compare usefulness of data collected in uroflowmetry, a test that measures the amount of urine released from the body, at home versus in the doctor's office. Additionally, investigators are assessing patient satisfaction when completing a virtual visit for lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS), related to prostatic enlargement, compared to an in person visit. The three devices being investigated have not been used in the home setting to make urinary measurements as is typically done in clinic. The goal is to test the effectiveness and accuracy of these devices compared to our standard clinical practices and demonstrate their ability to provide useful information in the home setting.
The study team aims to investigate whether implementing virtual reality therapy (VRT) during Genicular nerve radiofrequency ablation (GNRFA) procedure will provide better alleviation of procedural pain and augmented satisfaction for patients.
This will be a single arm, open-label, prospective study of patient-reported outcomes of patients with bilateral implantation of the Panoptix or Panoptix Toric implant.
The purpose of this research is to find out whether the way information about surgery is presented to patients affects patient satisfaction, knowledge retention, and surgical outcomes such as anxiety
Physician behavior plays an important role on patient perception of their care team and on patient satisfaction. Though studies have attempted to impact how physicians interact with their patients through various initiatives, the effect of more subtle nudges on physician behavior have not been studies. As such, the investigators propose a randomized controlled deception trial to evaluate the impact of nudges on hospitalist behavior and patient satisfaction.
The purpose of this research study is to evaluate participants' experience and satisfaction during the awake deep brain stimulation (DBS) procedure. Normally, the neurologist will ask the participant questions and also ask the participant to perform tasks during surgery. During this time, the neurologist will be talking to the participant and the participant will be responding by answering questions or participating with the tasks. For some study participants, there will be one small change made to the typical way the neurologist conducts this evaluation. The study staff will then ask the study participants about their experience with the neurologist's evaluation. The subject will not be told what part of the evaluation is changed for the study, until after they have responded to the questionnaire.
The purpose of this research study is to evaluate patient satisfaction with an oral testosterone agent, Jatenzo, compared to other forms of testosterone therapy.
To understand how patients perceive the quality of care they receive when given different post-operative analgesic medications. Specifically the investigators want to assess whether patients who receive non-opioid analgesia following surgery endorse appropriate quality and satisfaction with their care compared to those who receive opioid medication.
The investigators propose a single-site, double-blinded, placebo-controlled clinical trial of lavender aromatherapy versus placebo for patient satisfaction in adult women having a surgical abortion before 10 weeks and 0 days gestation. The investigators will evaluate whether lavender aromatherapy is an effective adjunct therapy for patient satisfaction during first trimester surgical abortion. The investigators will measure satisfaction using the Iowa Satisfaction with Anesthesia Scale (ISAS). The investigators hypothesize that women receiving lavender aromatherapy will report higher satisfaction scores compared to women receiving placebo. Prior studies have investigated the use of aromatherapy in laboring patients, in menstruating women, and in general post-operative populations. No investigations have focused on the use of lavender aromatherapy as an adjunct therapy to paracervical block and/or oral narcotics and anxiolytics in outpatient surgical abortion. Our study is novel in investigating patient satisfaction with first trimester surgical abortion using lavender aromatherapy. The contribution of this proposed research to the literature is significant because current affordable anesthetic adjuncts to opioids and benzodiazepines are limited.
The purpose of this study is to examine whether there is significant difference between two groups: extra care (EC) and usual care (UC) in improvement of patients' quality-of-life (QoL) scores between the baseline and 90-day post-surgery in patients undergoing Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS).
Patients will be enrolled at 28w0d-36w0d. Randomized to one of two arms: 1. Labor podcasts - Seven labor podcasts that can be downloaded for any podcast app 2. Usual care
To evaluate patient reported outcomes associated with quality of vision before and after treatment with Contoura Vision Topography-Guided LASIK.
This study aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of virtual postoperative visits as compared to in-office postoperative visits for patients undergoing minimally invasive hysterectomy. The investigators hypothesize that virtual visits will be non-inferior to in-person visits in terms of patient satisfaction. The primary objective for this study is to evaluate patient satisfaction of the postoperative visit experience, as measured by the Press Ganey Medical Practice Survey and Medical Practice Telemedicine Survey. The secondary objectives include evaluating the incidence of a new diagnosis of a postoperative complication requiring medical treatment (e.g. calling in of a prescription), an office visit with CNP or MIGS surgeon, or an urgent care or ER visit. Post-operative complications include infection (urinary, pulmonary, wound, pelvic abscess, and bloodstream), thromboembolic events, bleeding; and issues with wound healing, such as dehiscence. The investigators will record no-show rates, visit times, and estimated travel distance as measured by distance of home to clinic site.
