The purpose of this study is to see if curcumin can suppress HPV infection in women with low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (LSIL) disease or treated high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL) disease. This study plans to explore the effect of curcumin as a potential medical treatment in HIV-uninfected and infected women with mild precancerous lesions of the cervix or recently treated high-grade precancerous lesions at risk for persistent HPV infection. About 200 women with low-grade precancerous lesions of the cervix or recently treated high-grade precancerous lesions will be enrolled to either insert 2000 mg of curcumin capsules in their vagina once a week or placebo after undergoing colposcopy or loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP). They will have a repeat visit in 6 months where they will undergo a Pap smear and HPV test to determine if there are higher rates of HPV clearance after curcumin administration. If HPV is present or the Pap smear is abnormal, patients will then undergo colposcopic examination to evaluate cervical histology.

The project will be conducted in collaboration with clinical practices across Massachusetts, serving a diverse population heavily represented in Community Clinics and Health Centers. The program will offer evidence-based interventions in obesity/weight management, cancer screening, and mental health.
There are continued disparities in cancer incidence, mortality, and survival between American Indians (AIs) and Whites on cancers responsive to early screening (i.e., breast, colorectal, and cervical) in the US. In New Mexico (NM), AIs compared with other racial/ethnic populations are significantly less likely to adhere to recommended screening guidelines. The purpose of this trial is to develop and pilot test multilevel/multicomponent intervention strategies to enhance screening for breast, colorectal, and cervical cancers.
The main purpose of this study is to gather information about an investigational drug combination, Lenvatinib in combination with pembrolizumab, that may help to treat cervical cancers. In this study, we are looking to see whether the combination of lenvatinib and pembrolizumab has any effect on slowing tumor growth in cervical cancer tumors.
This is a phase 0 clinical trial of molecular biomarkers in women with uterine cervix cancer. Women receive standard-of-care radiochemotherapy followed by brachytherapy. Blood samples are obtained to detect circulating levels of deoxyribonucleotides, human papillomavirus DNA, and circulating tumor cells.
This is a randomized controlled trial to compare survival for patients who undergoe robotic assisted laparoscopy versus open hysterectomy and lymph node assessment for the treatment of early stage cervical cancer.
The purpose of this research study is to test the safety of Niraparib and dostarlimab as a combination treatment and see what effects (good and bad) this combination treatment has on patients with recurrent or progressive cervix cancer.
This study is a validation study to confirm the ability of Telomescan OBP-401 to identify CTCs in patients with HPV 16 / 18 associated cervical cancer. CTCs identified will be tested for the presence of the HPV 16 / 18 E6 protein, confirming a cervical cancer origin.
This trial is designed to study the safety and efficacy of the combination of carboplatin, bevacizumab, and pelvic radiation therapy. Rationale for substituting cisplatin with carboplatin: Five landmark trials in cervical cancer prompted the National Cancer Institute in February of 1999 to issue a clinical announcement stating that "strong consideration should be given to adding concurrent chemotherapy in the treatment of invasive cervical cancer". The chemotherapeutic agent which was a common denominator to all 5 trials was cisplatin, and ever since it has become part of the standard of care for the treatment of stage IIB, III, and IVA cervical cancers. In addition, chemoradiotherapy with cisplatin is also considered one of the standard treatment options for IB2 and IIA tumors greater than 4 cm in diameter. The most recent Gynecologic Oncology Group protocols for cervical cancer have used cisplatin and radiation therapy as in two of the five landmark trials. However, the benefit in survival given by cisplatin has not been without toxicity. In summary, in the trial by Keys 35% of patients receiving cisplatin and radiotherapy experienced moderate or severe toxicities. In the one by Rose, only 49 % completed the intended 6 cycles of chemotherapy. Based on the toxicity profile of cisplatin, Higgins performed a phase II study of concurrent carboplatin with pelvic radiation therapy in the primary treatment of cervix cancer. He demonstrated the ability to administer carboplatin with concurrent radiation therapy with significantly less toxicity and with 94 % of the planned treatments delivered. A comprehensive analysis of the literature from 1998 which compared the efficacy of carboplatin versus cisplatin in solid tumors concluded that for ovarian cancer and lung cancer the effectiveness of carboplatin was comparable to cisplatin, while for germ cell tumors, bladder cancer, and head and neck cancer cisplatin appeared superior. There was no mention of cervical cancer in this review, since at present there is no phase III trial comparing carboplatin versus cisplatin in cervix cancer. Rationale for bevacizumab: Bevacizumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal IgG1 antibody that binds to and inhibits the biologic activity of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) which stimulates tumor and tumor blood vessel growth. Targeting VEGF with bevacizumab could potentially be of benefit in cervical cancer patients by starving the tumor's blood supply and potentially enhancing the effect of radiotherapy and carboplatin chemotherapy.
Within this study patient data are collected from different imaging and motion monitoring devices that will be used to develop and test strategies for image-guided adaptive radiotherapy in cervix cancer patients.
