Participation Criteria

Researchers look for people who fit a certain description, called eligibility criteria. Some examples of these criteria are a person's general health condition or prior treatments.

Ages Eligible for Study:40 Years to 69 Years
Sexes Eligible for Study:MALE
Accepts Healthy Volunteers:No
Standard Ages:ADULT, OLDER_ADULT
Inclusion CriteriaExclusion Criteria
  1. * Consecutive patients undergoing prostate biopsy for detection of prostate cancer
  2. * Aged 40 to 69 years
  3. * Four ethnicity groups (Caucasian, African Americans, East Asians, Latinos)
  4. * PSA between 2.5-10 ng/mL
  1. * Previous diagnosis of prostate cancer.
  2. * Ethnicity outside the inclusion criterion (including mixed ethnicity).
  3. * Any prior PSA test result outside the range of inclusion criterion.
